What this tool does

Trims the margins of a document by narrowing the area a reader displays. You mark the part to keep by dragging on the first page, and that same area is applied to every page you selected. Cropping hides what falls outside the box, it does not delete it — to take content out for good, use Redact.

How to use it

  1. Drop the PDF.
  2. Drag on the first page to mark the area you want to keep, then use the corner handles to adjust it.
  3. Choose whether all pages are cropped or only the ones you list.
  4. Download the cropped file, or press Use the whole page to start the selection over.

Common questions

Can I crop each page differently?
No. One rectangle is applied to the whole selection. It is stored as a proportion of the page, so pages of different sizes are trimmed by the same relative amount.
Is the content outside the crop really gone?
No. The page keeps everything it had; only the visible area is made smaller, and another tool can widen it again. Redact is the tool that removes content permanently.
Why is the download button inactive?
Because the selection still covers the whole page, so there is nothing to trim. Drag a smaller area, and if you chose specific pages, make sure the page field holds a valid range.
